Brookfield Wisconsin | Home of Health Care Heroes

Welcome to Brookfield Wisconsin, home to over thirty hospitals just outside of the City of Milwaukee... we are home base to families and professionals committed to doing our part.  While there are many ways to research a city if you are considering a move we felt that learning the area through a realtor perspective, someone that is also a parent invested in the community would be helpful. Throughout my career, I have researched many different markets all over the world comparing the market that I'm working in and the only way I  feel that I have the inside scoop is from someone who has their finger on the pulse of what is moving in the industry.
Brookfield is a city that feels more like a town, with a population of well over 38,972 per the Brookfield population review.  We are the largest city in Wisconsin with the ability to know your friends and have a little social breathing room at the same time.  The city has the intimacy of a town with neighbors, familiar bus line faces and incredible faculty that take the time to know you and remember you on a first-name basis.  Even during a time such as we are experiencing in COVID, neighbors and friends are going the extra mile and that means so much.

To understand Brookfield, Wisconsin fully is to understand this:

#1- The vibe of the City which is 100% community-driven and inclusive

#2- The real estate- We have a very competitive market, dream homes at every turn, and opportunities to maximize your quality of life for your family on every budget.

Let's break this down:

If you have been considering a home in Brookfield, Wisconsin, this may be just the year to buy it. And if you're selling, rest assured that buyers are emailing us daily asking us to "keep a lookout for...". Here are the steps to be prepared:

  1. When I am researching an area look at a 2 year pattern. It gives me a way to understand a market trend. While I know there is no way to avoid surprises all of the time in real estate, it gives me a way to at least gauge what I'm looking at and where I fit, as a homeowner, investor, or transplant buyer learning a new market.
  2. I also research exactly what is on the market and how long the inventory has taken to go under contract so I understand how fast and prepared I need to be.

In Brookfield, when I say that the market is "competitive" that is a very kind way of saying "be prepared or you will lose". The homes in this area when they are priced at market value receive offers before hitting the market, immediately after getting on the market and most certainly receive multiple offers. There is no reason to feel intimidated when we are prepared and we have the research done. Meaning, there is a process we use with buying and selling that takes the anxiety right out of the situation and adds clarity to the steps we need to accomplish. If you are a buyer considering moving here, you may wonder why Brookfield is such a sought after area?

Here are a few of the main reasons:

  1. Brookfield Community Events: Brookfield is incredible for enjoying daily quiet activities and fun every weekend. I have never been a part of a community that has more wholesome things going on for you to enjoy either with other families or alone. You always feel like you are a part of something whether you choose to participate or not. The favorites for kids of all ages have been the parades (especially 4th of July), mass exodus for trick or treating in Brookfield!- huge fun for everyone, music in the park, craft fairs, holiday fairs, fruit markets, Mitchell Park baseball, walking trails, art center, dog park and the coolest of all---- evening football games in the fall... the lights are on, the music is blaring and the entire community is ready for the game. Brookfield has something for everyone, every age and every stage.
  2. Pet-Friendly Community. Our city is a town feeling with pets at the center of our focus as well. You will see lots of walks with our dogs and furry friends at community events.

  3. Health Care Heroes live here! There is a great amount of relief to know that you are close to some of the most sought after full-service care with world renown specialists and compassionate care. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is 20 minutes from Brookfield, Campuses of the UW Pro-Health Cancer Center are 15 minutes from Brookfield, Froedert Hospital  is also 20 minutes away. The value of the proximity and familiarity with the campuses you gain by living and working this close is incredible when you find yourself or your children needing to the service of these providers. I can tell you from personal experience as a parent, patient experience, and volunteer that the positive vibe from our city is felt in the care of these campuses. The warm, loving, empathetic care and community-conscious staff creates a positive experience that can mean everything.

So now that you know the details on some of our down-home, authentic vibe let's talk about the market. There is hopeful news coming from one of the experts I follow, the chief economist for the National Association of Realtors. I've learned over my career the importance of carefully choosing the experts I trust in the industry. According to Lawernce Yun, "One certainty is home prices staying solid." When we are pulling the data for our market and put his words to the test, it holds up. While the world is experiencing incredible stresses and changes in the way business is done, real estate for many of us has always been 90% virtual. My client's expectation for the balance of my career has been that my services and research are virtual as the stress of their occupation and traveling demanded as such. The other important take away is that this current situation may emotionally feel similar to 2008 but it is not the same regarding the trends of the market at all.
